Strategy and consultancy

The half of this studio that never appears in a deliverables list, and the half that decides whether the rest of it was worth buying.

Built for
deciding everything yourself, briefs that go nowhere, guessing what to make next and carrying the why alone.
The short version

Is this for you? For the founder deciding everything alone and carrying the why. Not if someone already owns your strategy and your why; that seat is filled, and we do not fill it twice.

What leaves your plate. The audit run before the quote without your asking, the result asked for before the work, and the thinking left unbilled, all carried by one person who stays the same person.

What starts working. You stop being the only one who knows why every decision on the channel was taken. That knowledge lives with somebody else now, and it is still there next year.

The smallest way in. A free audit: three fields, and a written reading back, usually within about three working days. It commits you to nothing.

What to read next. The five levels to see where this fits, or the casework to see it done.

Where consultancy stops being a call you have to book

The audit happens before the quote, and nobody has to ask

No proposal is written from a brief here. The channel gets read first, scored topic by topic, with the good scores explained as carefully as the bad ones. A partner who knows why something already worked can repeat it without us, which is the point.

The first question is what result we are expecting

More views, more enquiries, more sales, more subscribers, or more people knowing you exist. Five different videos. Being asked this by the people cutting your footage can be surprising; it should be the norm.

The advice is unbilled, and sometimes it costs us the work

If the money would do more as equipment, or as a different hire, or as nothing at all for six months, that is what gets said. Over a partnership measured in years it is the only version that works for either side.

One person carries it, and it is always the same person

Strategy delegated to a rotating contact is strategy nobody owns. Every partner has an assigned founder who knows the brand from top to bottom, decides inside the agreed standard, and coordinates the partner's own team as well as ours. At the Retainer and the Partner System that founder runs it as your dedicated manager; a lighter engagement keeps the same owner, without the full day-to-day a dedicated role carries.

The order it happens in

Read, decide, design

The public data and the analytics, then the expected result written down, then a content system built to reach it: formats, cadence, the topics worth owning and the ones already saturated.

Then measure the right thing

Which sections were rewatched, what the invitation actually took, which scenes deserve repurposing. None of it is treated as proof of cause; a graph shows what happened, not why, so each reading becomes a hypothesis and a next test rather than a verdict. Delivered by call, because a number without its reading is a number. Every month, and the improvements it teaches are applied across every partnership rather than only the one that raised them.

The thing being bought is not a better video. It is less deciding.

One person ends up carrying the why, so you can go back to carrying the business.

What changes for you

A brief with a criterion in it, a plan that survives contact with a busy month, and one person who knows why every decision on your channel was taken.

Everything BUBI has written on Strategy

What this is

The thinking that happens before and around the making. Reading a channel, deciding what result is expected, designing a content system, choosing what to stop doing, and reading what happened afterwards so the next brief is better than the last.

Why it exists as its own line

Because a studio that only takes instructions produces exactly what you already thought of, at a higher standard. That is worth something, and it is not worth a retainer. The reason to hand work to a team is to hand over the deciding as well, and that is a service with its own method rather than a courtesy that comes free with editing.

Why it matters to you

Most of the cost of running a channel is the deciding: what to make, in what order, for whom, and whether last month worked. That load does not appear on any invoice and it is the one you actually feel.

Before strategy is discussed, we read the channel: what it publishes, what it promises and where the two part ways. The audit comes back in writing, so the first call starts from evidence rather than introductions.

A quick fit check

Request your free audit.

Three fields, and a written reading back: a fit snapshot, two or three prioritised opportunities, and a recommended next step.

A bare domain, a full URL or a channel link.
Received. We reply in writing, usually within three working days.
That did not send. Try once more, or write to us instead.

A person reads the channel and writes the audit by hand: a considered read typically takes three working days. That is the usual shape, not a promised turnaround. We use these details only to reply to you: no lists, no lurking.

What you will get

A fit snapshot: where your channel stands, and whether we are a match.

Two to three opportunities: specific, prioritised, yours to keep.

A recommended next step, even if that step is not us.

The audit is free and commits you to nothing: nobody follows up with a call you did not ask for.

The casework shows all of this done.

The case studies are the same work with the numbers, the sources and the dates attached.
